In 2018, Icade Promotion and REI Habitat signed a co-development partnership agreement with respect to several wood-based construction projects over the next few years in the Paris region and major French cities.

Wood has demonstrated all the benefits it brings to responsible and biosourced real estate.
The goals of the partnership between Icade and REI Habitat are to:
- Step up wood-based construction in France and complete 200,000 sq.m of mixed wood and concrete buildings throughout the country in the next few years.
- Pool their skills and spearhead an R&D programme on wood-based buildings of the future.
- Explore innovative uses associated with ecology—urban agriculture, social economy, zero-waste objectives, reduced energy consumption, etc.
- Enter into exclusive partnerships with players in the French forestry and wood industry (carpenters, sawmill operators, forest management companies) consistent with shorter supply chains and traceability.
The projects resulting from this partnership, developed by Icade’s Synergies Urbaines, will be showcases for environmental transition in the construction industry and for inventing the city of the future: Reinventing Cities C40, “Inventing the Greater Paris Metropolis” campaign, Paris 2024 Olympics, sites for Projects of National Significance (OIN), large-scale urban development projects, etc.
