Stemming from the project to relocate the Korian Mornay facility currently located in Saint-Pierre-de-l’Isle, the Korian health complex will become part of the senior care industry in the Saintes area. In addition to a 60-bed post-acute care inpatient facility, this new health complex will include a day hospital with 14 outpatient beds. Both facilities will provide comprehensive and specialised care for elderly, polypathological patients who are dependent or likely to become so.
- These outpatient services ensuring continuity of care following a hospital stay will prepare and ease patients smoothly back home.
- The new health complex will also feature doctors’ offices open to the general public, where patients can be seen by independent physicians.
- Patients will be cared for by a multidisciplinary medical and paramedical team bolstered by additional care providers, including an occupational therapist, psychologist, dietician and adapted physical activity specialist. This project will create jobs in and around Saintes, and involve a team of 60 employees.
- The healthcare facility will include innovative rehabilitation equipment (outdoor therapy programme) and will provide a setting conducive to quality care and patient comfort, featuring convivial spaces, wellness areas, recreation rooms and treatment rooms for a physiotherapist and occupational therapist.
“The Korian health complex in Saintes will operate in synergy with regional public healthcare services. This is the result of a close collaboration with the Regional Health Agency (ARS) over a number of years, aimed at maintaining a balanced local health ecosystem. Its multidisciplinary, comprehensive care will provide nuanced solutions tailored to the distinctive nature of the region and the needs of the inhabitants of the Saintes area. By moving closer to Saintes, we are looking to strengthen our partnerships with the city-hospital network and open the healthcare facility’s doors to all healthcare providers”, explained Nicolas Mérigot, CEO of Korian France Healthcare.
