PIOM is an innovative campus dedicated to soft industries, the result of collaboration between Icade, the municipality of Mauguio and the local authority. It brings together a diverse range of companies in the biotechnology, digital technology, healthcare, energy and manufacturing sectors. The campus offers a multitude of services for employees, including a drop-in childchare center, a company restaurant, coworking spaces, a "village square" (a place for events) and various amenities for well-being and conviviality...

As for the construction, studies were carried out with the Archigroup architectural firm for the orientation of facades, the choice of materials, the position of glazed surfaces... to make the most of exposure to natural light and limit the thermal impact in the buildings. All buildings are equipped with solar panels and heat pumps, ensuring comfort in winter and summer. Finally, three of the buildings have been awarded the BREEAM very good label.

Témoignages

« Created 15 years ago in the Pays de l'Or agglomeration, Arkolia is writing a new page in its adventure by setting up in the PIOM area. The Pays de l'Or agglomeration has brought us good luck, having grown from 0 to 250 employees, and we expect to double our workforce over the next 4 years. Our new 3,100 m² 'Arkolia Alpha Park' head office reflects our company's ambitions, and is a showcase for all Arkolia's missions, businesses and expertise, both in terms of innovation and the solutions we offer to support the energy transition. The new facility combines workspaces (400 offices and coworking spaces, 21 meeting rooms), 6 creativity and training rooms, 2 conference areas, 1 library, a film studio, 1 laboratory, 1 gym, 1 catering area... The 3-storey building will be an opportunity to deploy all the energy services developed by Arkolia in the business park: 600 MWh of solar production; 200 kWh of electrical storage; a 300 kWp supercharger station; 50 controllable EV charging stations; complete autonomy for the building's electrical consumption; surplus electricity that can be sold directly to users in the PIOM zone at a lower price than traditional suppliers. »
Jean-Sébastien Bessière, co-founder and president of Arkolia

"The construction of this new building will bring together all the Veolia Group entities present in Montpellier, namely: the Veolia Water customer call center, the operational teams of the Hérault water business, the technical expertise services of the regional management of the water business as well as the support services and also the teams of Recyclage et Valorisation des Déchets, Veolia Energy and the regional management of SARP. 260 people will work on the site, including 220 who will have their own offices. We have designed a modern building where several professions will coexist: field operatives, a customer call platform, and support and expertise professions... It's a real place to live, with energy self-consumption, and several creative zones to facilitate exchanges between the various professions. In addition, a terrace on the n+2 level, connected to a relaxation area, will enable the organization of internal and external events. The PIOM park benefits from an ideal location, close to a multimodal transport hub, coupled with a design that meets today's environmental criteria. Accessibility is an essential criterion for us, not least to facilitate access for our regional and national teams when they visit us. I'm looking forward to moving into this new location in the heart of the metropolitan area, whose sustainable design echoes Veolia's business."
Olivier Sarlat, Director Southern Region, water division at Véolia

« The location chosen for this new building, in the dynamic environment of Montpellier, close to train stations and the airport, is a real asset for our project. The architectural approach takes into account environmental measures, such as optimizing the footprint thanks to a shared silo parking lot. It is also a key factor in the development of the bio-production sector in Occitanie. The building, on which construction is about to begin, will enable us to welcome biotech companies to produce their clinical trial batches on our premises, with our support and guidance. Ultimately, the site will employ around sixty people. »
Amel Hadri, founder and CEO of INITS
