A housing project close to La Défense European business District

Context

In consequence, an urban development strategy arose from a desire to incorporate both functional and social diversity in order to:

• Create a coherent urban design with a mix of homes and offices promoting sustainable development and featuring both architectural and planning excellence.
• Meet the needs of local authorities and communities.

The housing development is part of an overall project that comprises 70,000 sq.m of offices.

Nouvelle Vague includes 

• 78 sale housing units – 5,580 sq.m of floor area
• 67 social housing rental units – 4,575 sq.m of floor area
• 1 private childcare centre - 454 sq.m of floor area
• 1 retail unit on the building’s ground floor – 269 sq.m of floor area

The street-facing, double-skin façade is made out of perforated metal panels. The rear façade is set back from the ground floor which enables the housing units to have spacious terraces.
